Hello My Name Is...
Mrs. Ann Chambers
Hello, my name is Ann Chambers. I am currently a second-grade teacher at Gresham Elementary school. I have been teaching for 20+ years. My first 11 years of teaching were at my Alma Mata, Pleasant Grove Elementary where I taught 3rd grade 1 year and 2nd grade for 10 years. I am now blessed to be here at Gresham Elementary. I have taught 4th grade and 2nd grade at Gresham Elementary.
As for my philosophy of education, it has been so easy at Gresham Elementary. Gresham encompasses my philosophy of teaching, therefore creating an enjoyable place of employment. I believe that all children can learn. I believe that children are our future...I believe that each and every child has the potential to bring something unique and special to the world. My role is to help my students develop their potential by believing in them as capable individuals. I will always assist them in discovering who they are, so they can express their own opinions and nurture their own ideas.
Teaching has always been a part of my life. My love of teaching began as a young girl. I grew up in a family that taught me about the love of helping others and working with people. My mother was a teacher who instilled, upon me, an eternal love for the education profession. I was blessed with the opportunity to receive a wonderful education in the Jefferson County School System. I graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1990. Throughout my early education, I had brilliant teachers who helped me realize my calling, to teach. After high-school, I attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education in 1996.
I currently live in Chelsea, Alabama. I am married to a wonderful man named Kevin. We have two handsome boys named Kody and Drew. Kody is 22 years old. He is a nursing student at UAB. My other Drew is 16 years old. He is a student at Chelsea High School. As for my hobbies, my husband and I love going to weekly estate sales and spending our summers at the beach. We also love spending time together as a family. My family is my pride and joy, and I treasure their love and support.
