Mrs. West
I have been working with students with disabilities for the past 9 years. My love for special education started after college as an aide in a special needs preschool classroom. I fell in love with my students and decided to get my Master's Degree in Special Education. In December 2010, I graduated from Valdosta State University, and in January 2011, I received my first teaching job as a special needs preschool teacher. I remained with my preschool students for 3 years until my family relocated to Alabama.
Shortly after our move, I began working with Hoover City Schools as an Instructional Support Teacher in a K-4 school. After a year of working with older students, I realized how much I missed working with the preschool population, and knew I wanted to find another preschool teaching position. I have been a part of the Gresham family since August 2015, and I have loved being back in Pre-K. Watching my students learn and acquire skills and language brings me so much joy and keeps me motivated to becoming a better teacher.
