My name is Dr. Asia Gorg, I am originally from South Florida and born in Miami. I had the opportunity to be raised in Miami, Florida and Spain. I am bilingual and speak English and Spanish fluently. I am married to Joachim Gorg for about 29 years and have three beautiful children: Sarah 21, Michael 18 and Barbara 8 years old. I have worked as a School Counselor for over 19 years and as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in private practice. I have experience working in a school setting such as Elementary, Secondary, and Vocational - dealing with a variety of Multicultural Issues. I completed my Bachelor and Master Degree in Guidance and Counseling at St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida. I also obtained my Doctorate Degree in Multicultural Counseling from “The Union Institute”. I am currently a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida and a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Alabama. I taught as an Adjunct Professor in the Graduate Counseling Program for the University of Maryland and Bowie State University. I enjoy my career, because my passion is to help people so they can reach their full potential.
I enjoy spending time with my family, walking, being outdoors, and in my church serving my community.
I like to encourage students to strive to be the best they can be on a daily basis. I provide classroom instructions, individual and small group counseling from Kindergarten up to Fifth grade. I conduct school wide activities like: Hispanic Breakfast, Student of the Month, coordinate Perfect Attendance with certificates - every nine weeks- Career Day, and I am an ACT Testing Coordinator.
I am open to serve the parents, students, and everyone who needs my services. My daily mission is to be able to make a difference for the students and families at Gresham Elementary.
